Veneers made entirely of reinforced ceramic without any substrate material are called full ceramic veneers. These veneers are the most aesthetic materials used in dentistry. Names such as EMPRESS, IPS MAX, IPS EMPRESS® II, IPS E.MAX® are trademark examples of these full ceramic systems. All-ceramic applications can be divided into two categories: laminate and all-ceramic veneer applications. On this page, we will talk about full ceramic veneer applications.
If the person who will have full ceramic veneer Zirconium application has not had a preparation, that is, tooth cutting, in his teeth before, the teeth must be cut. It is necessary to cut between 0.5 mm and 1.5 mm from the teeth on average.
For people who want to replace their existing veneers with zirconium veneers, the old veneers are first removed. The existing preparation is reviewed, if there is a need, the cuts are corrected, if the existing cut is sufficient, the teeth are cleaned and the impression stage is started.
After tooth cutting (preparation), impressions are taken from the teeth. The impression can be taken with classical methods or digitally. The process is completed with rehearsal and fitting of the teeth in the following sessions.

During the preparation (cutting) session of zirconium veneers, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Since the procedure is performed under anesthesia, no pain is felt. Temporary teeth are worn until the treatment is finished. Sensitivity control, hot and cold permeability are prevented with temporary teeth. In general, the process is completed without any problems.

The zirconiums prepared in the rehearsal sessions are tested, and if the whole process is going in line with the wishes of the patient and the physician, the finishing phase is started. The patient is free to change his/her mind, form, color and structure during the rehearsal phase. All medically appropriate changes can be made before the finishing session.
Zirconium teeth are attached between 2-6 days on average. The patient’s medical requirements, individual requests, the physician’s appointment availability, the number of teeth to be made, the duration of stay in the country for our dental tourism patients affect the treatment process.
Zirconium crowns should be brushed like normal toothbrushes, the care is the same as the care of normal teeth. If a zirconium bridge is applied, it is necessary to use a superfloss or interface brush under the body.

The color of zirconium teeth does not change over time and remains the same as the day it was first made.

The color of zirconium veneers cannot be changed afterwards, it remains as it was the first day it was made. Zirconium veneers cannot be bleached.
Zirconium veneers are long-lasting, the lifespan of zirconium is directly proportional to the oral care of the patients and the health status of the support teeth. Although it varies from person to person, this period varies approximately between 7 and 15 years.
Zirconium teeth are more expensive than metal-supported teeth.
Zirconium teeth are compatible with the gums for reasons such as being antiallergic, being thin at the gingival level, not having the disadvantage of metal color reflection, and not causing bruising on the gums. In addition, zirconium teeth do not create an aesthetically negative appearance in a situation such as gingival recession that may occur later.
– Light transmittance is the main factor that determines the aesthetic perception of teeth. The higher the light transmittance, the more aesthetic the veneer tooth is. In teeth with a classical metal substructure, the substructure material is silver in color. The substructure is covered with various opaque materials to hide the silver color and connect the porcelain to the metal substructure. For this reason, the aesthetic appearance is weaker. In zirconium teeth, on the other hand, there is no opaque coating, and since zirconium itself is a white and translucent material, its light transmittance is high.
– Another advantage of zirconium teeth is that they are more biologically compatible and anti-allergic. Zirconium teeth are recommended for people with allergic constitution.
– In porcelains with classical metal substructure, black color formation can be observed in the gingival area over time or silver reflection caused by metal can be observed. In zirconium teeth, blackening of the gingiva does not occur and silver reflection does not occur in the gingival area.
– Zirconium substructures are lighter than conventional metal substructures.
People who need bridge treatment, who need a single tooth crown, may prefer zirconium crowns. People who want an aesthetic appearance as a coating material on the implant, who have excessive decay, defects, destruction, excessive wear on their teeth can have zirconium coatings.
